| The SBO Retz is a choice orchestra with the best blower and percussion pupils, graduates and friends of the music school of Retz. It encloses 52 members by an age average of 21 years. The orchestra was founded by an age average of about 15 years on the occasion of a big Open of Air concert in June, 2003 of Dir. Mag. Gerhard Forman for the purpose to give the possibility to from 15 to 30 year-old especially gifted musicians and female musicians from the region „ Retzerland “ to compile international sinfonic wind orchestra literature in a semiprofessional sphere. The sound body received a prominent call in Austria and since the last success at the famous competition "Flicorno d'Oro" in Italy also internationally. The orchestra is escorted by Mag. Gerhard Forman whom has succeeded during the last years in forming the orchestra to an unusual sound body. Well-chosen play sites and a careful choice of the literature serve to let become the orchestra a worthy representative of Lower Austria.
