Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg - St. Peter, AT

The Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg - St. Peter will represent the Wind Music Association of Styria at the Mid Europe 2010.

The Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg - St. Peter in the Sulmtal goes back to 2002, after both associations decided to take up test operations for a common concert. Because of the good results of the concert and the friendly development among the musicians of both associations a unique project with the name Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg - St. Peter begun.

For the musical management which can show meanwhile around 85 musicians Mag. Kurt Mörth is responsible. One can already look back at common results, how the participation in the march evaluation in the art step in 2004 and in 2007 with excellent results, in the concert evaluation in April, 2005 where in the upper stage likewise an excellent success could be attained as well as the concert evaluation in April, 2008 where in the art step an excellent success with the highest amount could be reached. Yearly 2 New Year wish concerts (one in Schwanberg and one in Saint Peter) which show meanwhile cultural climaxes in the municipalities are organised by the play community. In addition, there were during these 7 years of collaboration numerous charity concerts together with choirs, climax, besides, absolutely the charity concert together with the choir  " Bel Canto" in 2007 which has taken place in the sold off opera-house Graz.

The program of the Spielgemeinschaft applies from more traditional to there contemporary wind music literature. A special attention is lately laid on Old-Austrian literature, as for example "Tirol in 1809" from Sepp Tanzer, works of Johann Strauß like "Leichtes Blut", "Die Fledermaus Ouverture", "Der Zigeunerbaron", "Rosen aus dem Süden", "Vergnügungszug", "Tritsch Tratsch Polka", works of Franz von Suppé like "Pique Dame"," light cavalry \ ", as well as \ " gold and silver \ " from Franz Lehar uvm. Pieces of Austrian composers like Otto M. Schwarz with "Montblanc", Franz Cibulka "Tricondo" and Thomas Doss with "Magic Ouverture" and "Gand Canyon" also count to the repertoire of the Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg-St.Peter.

 

Kurth Mörth - conductor

Mag. Kurth Mörth studied from 1983 to 1989 clarinet in the Grazer college of music under Prof. Karl Steinwidder. Afterwards 3 years of study "Rrepertoire" and "Concert field Clarinet" at the Vienna music university with Prof. Peter Schmidl. Study finishes with the teaching ability, certificate and the Magisterium. For 26 years music teacher at the Erzherzog Johann music school in Wies and for 23 years 1-st solo clarinettist of the members of a philharmonic orchestra in the Grazer opera.

Since 2000 bandmaster of the market band Schwanberg, since 2002 bandmaster of the music association Saint Peter in the Sulmtal and the Spielgemeinschaft Schwanberg - St. Peter.
