Musikverein Oberneukirchen, AT

The Musikverein Oberneukirchen will come to Schladming to perform an open air during the Mid Europe 2010

The foundation year of the music association goes back after careful inquiries to 1866. A level-according summarised wind music group falls in the term of office of the upper teacher Adolf Festl, who led the school Oberneukirchen from 1861 to 1886. Before this time an only loose hanging together, music group operating from case to case existed. Nevertheless, the old age maintained by verbal tradition of the band was booked by different documents. After upper teacher Festl had stepped in the retirement, the following persons continued the bandmaster's office: Upper teacher Franz Kröswager in 1886-1912, afterwards the weaver Eduard Kafka till 1914, then the master carpenter Karl Mayrhofer and after his death his nephew Friedrich Mayrhofer who exercised this office during 32 years. Successful participation in different music parties, but also a war-conditioned rest falls in this period. An association of the music lovers of Oberneukirchen had originated already to an end of 1934. As a purpose of the association care of the music, in particular preservation of a prank and metal music and the exercise of young forces was stated in the statutes. The test bar was till 1972 in the inn Waldburger and afterwards in the old local house. In 1952 the association joined under the management of the bandmaster Josef Feichtinger to the alliance of the wind bands of Upper Austria. In 1964 became Stefan Reischl Kapellmeister. In 1980 Gottfried Pinner took over the bandmaster's place. From 1987 to 1990 Karl Huemer led the chapel. Gottfried Pinner took over the bandmaster's place from 1990 – in 2007 again. Since Jänner in 2008 the chapel is escorted for the first time by a female bandmaster, Mrs. Martina Österbauer. 46 active musicians and female musicians belong nowadays to the MV Oberneukirchen.
