Wind Symphonic Orchestra of Petach-Tikva, IL - CISM competition

The Youth Wind Orchestra from Israel, which has already taken part at the Mid Europe in 1999 and 2004, will be a CISM participant this year!

The Music Conservatory of Petach-Tikva is one of the city’s cultural landmarks and trains talented musicians from grade school through college. The Conservatory was established in 1950, and the Wind Symphonic Orchestra originated in 1960. The Conservatory comprises a variety of musical orchestras such as a Chamber orchestra,
Percussion instruments orchestra, a Symphonic orchestra, and Three Wind Assembly orchestras. The Conservatory is worldwide recognized and groups from the Conservatory in recent years have won international competitions in several European countries. In 1995 the Orchestra has appeared on concert stages in Holland, Germany and Spain. It has also been awarded the second Prize in the International competition in Valencia. During the same year, the Orchestra has won the First Prize at the Kfar-Saba Festival. This prize has been a continuous achievement for the past 15 years. In 2006, the Orchestra was also awarded “ golden prize with cum laude “, by the panel of  Judges for its outstanding performance. In 1999, 2001 and 2003 the orchestra has won the First Prize at International Competition in Zurich, Kerkrade and Interlaken respectively.

The Orchestra is very much involved in community events and takes active part in major festive events throuhthout the country.

The Conductor of this successful Wind a ssembly is Mr. Michael Delman. He was born in 1947 in the city of tchernovitz in Russia. In 1972 he graduates the academy of musicof Kishinev and majored in flute and conducting. Mr. Delman immigrated to Israel in 1977 and joined the Petach-Tikva Municipal Conservatory as a teacher and conducts the main orchestras, the wind symphonic and symphonic orchestras. Over the years he also became the musical conductor for the Wind symphonic orchestra participation.
